Uninstalling McAfee products before SmartPass still causes the network problem because McAfee fails to uninstall their own LSP module. 
So here is a program that will repair Winsock 2 setting. It is recommended to use this when you uninstalled all of SmartPass, McAfee Firewall, and McAfee Virus Scan and you still see them in Windows Sockets Configuration. I have tested on Windows 2000 and XP.
